2010 Honda ST1300
Summary:
Well engineered mile muncher that's a joy to ride
Faults:
No problems.
General Comments:
I use my bike as an everyday commuter with weekend away trips. My commute to work is usually in the dark and in the winter wet, around 50ks each way.
After reading loads of reports (the joy of buying a bike that been around forever), the issues of engine heat, screen glare and possible high speed wobble I knew were not going to be a problem for me. The comfort (I am over 6 feet) great handling below 200ks, good fuel range and reliability ticked all the important boxes.
I was going to buy BMW RT1200, I've owned a few big BMWs so I thought it would be just right. Tested 2 bikes and didn't like the handling, and they seemed underpowered. Had no plans on the Honda, just came across a great secondhand one in a dealer, nice extras, Sargent seat, bar risers, heated grips and cruise control! Took it out for a test ride and I knew within five minutes I was going to buy it. It was cheaper than any BMW with comparable ks and year, went and handled better, and for me looked great. After 7000ks no regrets, a great bike well engineered, no wonder they sold so many for so long.
Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
