2010 Derbi Terra Adventure 125
Summary:
Another great marque absorbed
Faults:
1) Carburation when new. Just put in the miles and it has disappeared.
2) Rear wheel. The internal spacer on certain models is short. This causes the bearings to fail.
General Comments:
Lovely looking bike and is big for a 125. Does not go over 72mph, but keeps up in town. Mine is the white model; some are available in an orangey colour.
I have been on a few green lanes and surprised a few with its capabilities. Certainly equal to a Serow. The power is 15bhp and you can find it at about 9000 RPM. I have lowered the gearing with a 53T rear sprocket so it is easier to negotiate the steep, rocky hills of Devon.
When people say they have never heard of Derbi, I always explain that they are one of the top ten world championship winners in motorcycle GPs.
I have given average marks because it never evolved into the lightweight GS style it should have. The engine is still used by Aprilia, and the Chinese have made an expensive copy of this model.
Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? No
