2004 Big Dog Pitbull

I love this bike!!
The Pitbull is a rigid monster. It is fast, sexy, abusive and aggressive.
The bike gets admirers over to look at it every-time I stop. Even if it's just for the traffic light, people roll down their windows to tell me how nice it is. At the gas station people come over to talk to me like they know me (gets kinda old after awhile, or if I'm in a hurry, still I try to be cool).
I added the Davinci Firepower Carb, Martin Bros Medusta exhaust and threw it on the Dyno. It is an S&S 107 cu, producing 105 horses and 108 ft/lbs of torque, all at 4900 feet in elevation.
This beast is definitely hard on the back and kidneys though. Watch those bumps!
My bike is a 2004 and has the 250 rear tire, the 05 and up, all sport the 300. I have ridden the 05 with the 300, if anyone tells you that it sucks up bumps better with the extra meat on the back, don't buy what they're selling.
This things is great and I love my bike, but you hit bumps hard enough on this rigid frame that wrecking the sucker is entirely within the realm of possibility. Especially if the hole is big enough.
Even with that rough ride, the bike makes me glad I bought it every time I ride it! If I didn't already own it, I would be out looking for the same bike right now.

I have 7,500 miles on the bike as of August 2006.
I still love this bike. I took it to Sturgis, and even with all the thousands of bikes there, I received compliments on the bike everywhere I went.
It is not as comfortable as a Harley. I have a Harley bagger also, and I take it when the trip is going to be long or when my wife goes with me. I have different bikes for different situations.
The Pitbull is perfect for when I want to show off around town. There is nothing like twisting the throttle on this hot-rod. Everybody looks, and this thing hauls ***.

I bought my 2004 pitbull 2 months ago with 1700 miles, and it has been in the shop for 3 weeks now wating on a EHC module.
I also found out that it has already been replaced once. I have 5300 miles on it now. The belt is also needing replaced and the front end is poping. I've called Big Dog three times with no answer yet. Does anyone have any help with the EHC modules?

I have a 2006 Big Dog Pitbull. It shuts down while riding at any RPM, usually while accelerating. I have to restart the bike; I have no idea what's up. Is it in the ignition or my switch? Thank you.

I had the same problem on my 05 Pitbull. The problem turned out to be the white plastic caps on the end of the fuel caps. Once I removed them, the vapor lock ceased and the bike has been running fine. A lot cheaper than replacing the EHC again.

Interesting review. I am curious to know the mileage that you have on the bike now?
In reality, if someone wants a good looking reliable, rideable motorcycle that doesn't beat them up, then they should invest in the bike that other manufacturers like to rip off and copy, and buy a Harley Davidson.
