2014 BRP Can-Am Spyder RT Limited

Summary:

I love it!!!

Faults:

Only thing that has happened is the switch for the fog lights went bad.

General Comments:

Great ride, comfortable and very quiet. Being able to "relax" the body when stopped at lights is wonderful.

Only wish I would have is to have the gear ratio changed to lower RPMs at interstate highway speeds. It has so much power/torque that it does not need to rev as high as it does at those speeds in top gear. Hills/inclines do not faze it, even at 55 MPH.

2014 BRP Can-Am Spyder RT Limited

Summary:

The best money spent for enjoyment I have ever made

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with this motorcycle. It is a great ride.

General Comments:

This 2014 Can Am Spyder RT Limited is a much better ride than the 2013 model we purchased. It has a lot more get up and go, it is a smoother ride because of the 6th gear, and it has a lot of storage space. We took a ride out west from Pennsylvania on our cruiser, over 4000 miles, and it is a much more comfortable ride for me with lower back issues than riding in my Chevy Trailblazer. We are looking forward to another long vacation on our bike in 2016.

I would recommend this bike to seasoned bike riders like my husband and myself with bad knees that can't hold up a two wheeler without causing pain, or for someone like myself who still loves to ride in her senior years, and feels a lot safer on three wheels. Happy riding everyone!

2014 BRP Can-Am Spyder RT Limited

Summary:

A comfortable and fun ride for touring

Faults:

Limp home mode continues to appear on a damp or rainy day if I use the CB. If I stop the bike, shut off the engine and then restart, it runs fine until I use the CB again. After a while, when the weather warms up, the problem disappears.

General Comments:

Love the bike for touring. It has ample storage and is easy to steer with a comfortable ride over rough roads. I enjoy the electric windshield on windy or wet days.

Have added a heated Corbin seat with the fuel door and backrest. Also added foot pegs that attach to the floorboards for my long legs.

Had a 2010 RT that I hated with its heat problems from the radiator, but the 2014 model with the extra gear and power is a great improvement.

You would think for $30,000, it wouldn't hurt for BRP to make the trailer hitch standard equipment.

The bike has some shortcomings. Running down the highway at 60 miles an hour, you hear a bang. The back tire will hit the top of the back wheel well.

The 2nd one - I had to put a new back tire on at 5400 miles.

At 7400 miles I had to put new brakes all the way around, due to the front brake pads on right front wearing out on the inside faster than the outside.

The front sway bar is too light. It needs to be heavier to keep the front end from dipping to the left or the right. Makes the bike feel like the tire is coming off.

The bike runs well and is nice for long rides.
