It is still one of the best motorcycles ever produced

Nothing. Normal maintenance.

Sweet, smooth, fast, good braking, good looking. One of Honda's best and that's saying a lot!

1995 Honda CB750 Nighthawk

Summary:

A true UJM - this bike is a jack of all trades, allowing for many riding styles

Faults:

Not a thing so far, though the tachometer doesn’t work. I hear that’s common with this model.

General Comments:

I love this bike. Comfortable, reliable and fun to ride. Handles very well on highways, country roads and everywhere in between.

The motor is a cold starter, but runs extremely well after about 5 minutes warming up. Mine had 91k miles when I got it, but because of its reputation and last owner's maintenance records, I bought it anyway and think it runs almost like new.

It is basic, no fancy features bike, but for me, that simplicity is part of the charm and I’d love to own another just like her.

1995 Honda CB750 Nighthawk

Summary:

Best all around bike ever made

Faults:

Nothing, other than basic maintenance.

New tires, chain, plugs, oil changes, brake pads, air filter (changed to UNI), etc.

General Comments:

This bike has an extremely consistent power band. The motor responds immediately to the throttle, whether on or off.

Very comfortable riding position with no wrist or back stress on long rides. Even as a 14 year old bike with 21000 miles on it, I wouldn't think twice about taking it across country.

Good fuel economy averaging just under 50 mpg. Can actually get close to 60 if babied, but that isn't much fun.

Inexpensive to insure and operate. These bikes also hold on to resale value remarkably well and run forever. It is not uncommon in warmer states to find these bikes with 50,000+ miles on them.

There were so many years that this model of the Nighthawk was produced, 1991-2003, that finding used parts is easy.

Everywhere I ride someone wants to buy it from me, so I guess others like it too.

1995 Honda CB750 Nighthawk

Summary:

Great motorcycle for fun and transportation

Faults:

Starter switch sticks and needs replacing.

Headlight is on the same switch and so does not work now.

Broken speedometer cable from forgetting to remove disc lock.

Two dead batteries since new, first lasted seven years.

Replaced rear tire twice once because of a nail through the side wall.

Replaced the front tire after it was ten years old, because it was getting hard.

General Comments:

For the person wanting to learn how to ride a larger motorcycle, the Nighthawk 750 is the best motorcycle out there.

Very smooth power band with no big peaks or valleys.

Decent gas mileage, around 38 to 41 most of the time.

Unless you break something, there is very little that will go wrong on these.

A full service is quite reasonable because of the self adjusting valves. Basically four spark plugs, change the oil, balance the carburetors and lube the cables. Not more than $150.00 for a normal service.
