2007 Honda CH80
Faults:
I got my Elite on ebay for $980, and it was 2007 model, almost like new. After 600 miles, some kind of squealing noise was coming under my seat while accelerating. It did not bother me much, because I was going to trade it in for a PCX.
General Comments:
Well, we have lots of roads here. The speed limit is 50 or 55mph. I was kind of embarrassed to ride my Elite on those roads going up hill about 35 mph or sometimes even 30mph! If the road is straight, I could go up to 45 mph, but that is it. If the road is just a little up hill, top speed goes down right away! Specially when me and my wife (total 300lbs) rode on it, traffic used to pile up behind of us and I used to hate that!
So I stopped riding this little turtle, and put my eyes on new model PCX125. Took it for a test ride with my wife and wooow, holly macaroni, the Honda PCX was so fast, that when we took off, my wife was almost falling off the bike. The PCX jumped from 0 to 45 in a flash. When we went up hill with it, I was still able to maintain the speed 45 mph no problem. so we decided to trade our Elite 80 for a PCX yesterday! :)
I already rode the PCX about 70 miles, and the gas tank is not even half yet! It has fuel injected water cooled engine and it is very quiet. Also it sounds like a big bike, looks like a bike too. We rode on it today, and top speed is about 60mph! So now we can keep up with the traffic even when the speed limit is 55mph!
The PCX is comfy, and I can stretch my legs all the way to the front like a bike. Today was very windy, but this scooter does not care about the wind! It rides very solid, and I did not feel any jerking because of the strong winds! It is so easy to control it, especially when I make u-turns! Brakes are excellent! Front brake is disc and hydraulic. When I use the rear brake, it also activates the front brake too. Mirrors are nice and don't vibrate, and doesn't show my shoulders, but the road.
The PCX head light is so nice, it lights up the whole sky! It has 2 halogen light bulbs and lights up very well, all the way from left to right 180 degrees. We love it, love it, love it, love it.
I did read this web page for Elite 80 reviews before I bought my Elite, but I am glad I got rid of it. I got $1000 for my Elite at the trade in, and paid another $2500 for the PCX. It's worth of every penny.
Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
