2009 Suzuki Boulevard C50T

Summary:

A great, reliable ride that keeps a smile on my face

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This bike has been nothing but a pleasure to own. It is the first bike I've had in over 30 years. Bought it used (5,400 miles) from original owner who kept it in immaculate condition. In the 23 months since then, I have put nearly 24,000 miles on it, including a 3,000 mile trip.

Very reliable, not a single problem. Relaxed, one-up cruising on back roads is my preferred mode of travel. I rarely run at speeds over 65mph, mainly because of the shorter gearing. Will accommodate a passenger with ease, but the extra weight noticeably affects performance. This bike has the three features I consider to be musts - liquid cooling, fuel injection and shaft drive. Comfortable, 50 MPG, great handling*, trouble-free.

Complaints? Needs a 6th gear for more relaxed high-speed cruising. Floorboards limit handling at extremes. Saddlebags prevent use of helmet lock.

2009 Suzuki Boulevard C50T

Summary:

A great all around bike; like your favorite shirt, always comfortable

Faults:

A great machine, only normal maintenance, valve adjustments, tire replacement.

General Comments:

I bought this bike with the Lehman trike conversion. It's a wonderful machine for one up or short trips with the grand kids. Longer trips one up are a breeze. I find the bike very comfortable and 500 mile days are very doable. This is my second Suzuki C50 trike. I have gone to a trike because of an accident on my Wing which left me disabled.

The brakes are weak, and I intend to upgrade the front pads with the next front tire change. I've been on a couple 3,500 mile trips and several shorter trips. It lacks a sixth gear, and a few more cc's would also be useful. The gas tank is a little on the small side, which requires me to look for a gas station between 100-125 miles.

I've added a throttle lock for highway use and a top box. This is my eighth bike and I get more raves on this bike than all my other bikes combined. It's like the "Little Engine That Could" - it may not do anything great, but does everything well.
