Faults:

Nothing. The Rocket III roadster is very dependable. I can rely on this as a primary mode of transportation.

General Comments:

Probably the best bike I have ever owned. I have had about 6 bikes, 4 being Harleys (from Dynas, Street Glides, and Tri Glides). The Triumph has a much better weight distribution with the big engine, about 2300 cc. It performs outstandingly well in wet weather with its low center, and hugs the road. It's a great experience to motor along in heavy traffic, see your lane open, and accelerate away from the cars. The ride is smooth and the acceleration is steady and strong at any speed with the 140 hp engine.

This is truly a beast of speed and muscle, but handles like a dream. Needless to say pulling into the parking lot at work always brings people to the motorcycle lot. The styling is so adept for a bike of this size. Surprising to me was the weight. It is 100 lb less than my Street Glide and handles much better. The Rocket is not top heavy, so motoring through the parking lot, or downtown traffic, is like skating more than snowshoeing.

Bike night is always a treat to pull in and pop down the kick stand. The "true bikers" and the crouch rocket crowd always check it out and want to know more. One night while I was inside, the pocket rocket girls sat down on the pavement beside the Triumph and just talked and really looked it over. They loved it. So I am quite happy and still in awe about what Triumph designed a couple of decades ago.
