1983 Yamaha TT600
Summary:
Best bike ever!
Faults:
CDI unit.
General Comments:
This is the 5th TT600 I've had, I've been riding the TT600s since 1985 and have yet to find a bike I like better. It has a low center of gravity and a fairly low seat height compared to newer dual purpose bikes. I think it may be the perfect bike if it had electric start! The OEM CDI units are prone to failure and mine died in the 1990s, but the replacement has lasted nearly 20 years so far.
It's a big heavy bike, but it's balanced well and has enough power to do anything you want. I love this bike, but I do get tired of kick starting it now that all the other bikes have the little magic start button.
I don't know how many thousands of hours mine has now, but it's a lot and has had almost no problems other than the CDI. I'm pretty sure this bike will outlast me.
Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
