I agree that it is a good bike for beginners. I am getting my parent's V-Star, and although it's a little too heavy for me yet, I can't wait to ride it.
We have had it for three years, and nothing major has ever happened, the only thing we had to do was replace the clutch along with some other minor details.
I love riding around town and going for rides with the Patriot Guard Riders (I will be an official member when I turn 16) and seeing all of the other bikes. We hope to take it with us to Sturgis next year, and I am hoping I will be able to ride it down there. We've been going for almost ten years, and I sometimes feel left out because I don't have my own bike yet.
I hope Yamaha will continue to make this bike for many more years, because it's reliable and you don't end up selling your vehicles to make the down payment.
