2016 BRP Can-Am Spyder from United States of America
Summary:
It is a well built machine that makes riding a huge pleasure
Faults:
Nothing, it's new and everything seems to work very well.
General Comments:
It is a very different ride from any motorcycle I have owned. Cornering is more difficult as leaning does not help as on a 2 wheeler. I would like to see an automatic transmission more similar to the Burgman Scooter. In addition I would like to see one handbrake on the right side as opposed to the foot brake. Since I have used both, the handbrake is more natural because it was that way from when I grew up using a bicycle. The general ride is different than a 2 wheel motorcycle.
A small movement of the handlebars makes a big difference in driving. Also, since there are 3 wheels, the largest one in the middle, driving over manhole covers or whatever is on the road makes it far more likely you will drive over it with a tire. So the ride can be a bit more bumpy than on a 2 wheel motorcycle. On the other hand, I find the suspension smoother and it gobbles up road issues better. Lighting is very good to excellent. The adjustable windshield and heated handgrips are very nice.
The speakers I would grade average at best. Often it's difficult to hear. The control for changing stations and volume is cumbersome. I like the automatic feature of the radio turning itself down when slowing down; a nice feature. The engine is awesome and provides a ton of power.
Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
