General Comments:
This is my first motorbike. It was given to me in very poor condition by a friend, and at that early stage, was not working.
The main problem was that the electrical system was completely shot, and also the fuel system was also in very bad condition. Admittedly, it had had a hard life before I got it. The bike had been dropped, and it was pretty badly scratched as well.
I believe the bike was hardly ever run, and was left to die quietly from no use under the house of the previous owner. It probably suffered from years of this sort of treatment.
So now, I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, ECU, ignition, engine kill switch, filters, spark plugs, some of the fairings, replaced, the brake light bulbs with LEDs, and found a replacement headlight.
The tyres were in near new condition, and are Bridgestone Battlaxs.
Currently, now that the bike is going, it runs well and only has an occasional hiccup while idling at the lights. Given the condition and past history with this bike, I am very pleased it runs as well as it does.
The acceleration is very strong; it handles very well and revs up to around 18-19k rpm. Braking is good with a single front disk, but the newer models (RR's) have two disc brakes at the front. Still, the CBR250R stops in a hurry.
It is not the most comfortable bike to ride, as it is quite thin, but this may be because I'm a fairly large person at six foot.
