1973 Honda CD175 from United Kingdom
Summary:
Indefatigable and characterful old chuffer
Faults:
Stand/swing arm pivot seized.
General Comments:
Bought for £250 and never needed anything but basic servicing in 15 years. Still polishes up quite well.
Uncannily reliable, always starts second kick as long as the small battery is kept charged.
Rubbish 6v lights and feeble indicators, front brake alarmingly bad.
Handles quite well with narrow bars, making it excellent in traffic. Too small for very long journeys really, but will thrum along at 55-60mph all day if required. Top speed about 75mph, but acceleration is quite laboured.
It looks very appealing and has a feel of quality that is absent on later small Hondas. Does about 75 MPG, and the fully enclosed chain lasts forever. Very likeable little bike.
Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Don't Know
