Faults:

I have owned 4, yes 4 FT500 Ascots over the past 25 years.

One had the starter solenoid fail. One had a starter that was inconsistent.

Right side panel / covers fall off. Use a zip tie.

General Comments:

I really like light weight standards. I have owned over 60 motorcycles. In my garage I have a DR350, GR650 Twin and a ST1100 V4. The Honda FT500 single cylinder, is such a good bike that I buy every one I can get a good deal on.

At 6' 3" I did have a saddle maker take the hump out of the saddle for me.

Flat smooth power.

50-55 mpg.

Will go 70 mph up hill and against the wind.
