I ride a 2006 1100 Silverado with 45,000 miles on it. I've gotten 100mph a few times. Not stable at that speed, cruises good at 75 to 80. Great bike, well balanced, and easy to maneuver.

Good job, very informative. I have recently purchased a V-star 650 and I changed the oil and filter, but I am having troubles getting into neutral. This comment has helped me out, so again thank you.

Can anyone help? Yesterday I started my 2005 650 V Star with 30300 km and it made a strange sound like something metallic broke! It was cold out (4C), and it started and ran OK... but rough. I have just cleaned the carbs and synced them a few weeks back. It was going great before yesterday!

Just curious, but some of you commented on jetting out your 650 Customs... I've installed Six Sigma 95 mains and 25 pilots, plus shimmed the slide needles 2 washers... The carbs have been synced, but I'm getting slight popping at low throttle and through the range... Just a slight popping that was probably there before I put the V&H Cruisers on, but the stock muffler probably hid the exhaust note pop more than the open pipes ever will... May I ask what you guys and gals jetted to? Sigma also sent a 100 main and with 3 turns of the PMS in, the popping was worse so I set it to 2 turns... I'm thinking of removing a shim on the needle or disabling the AIS, but I think all that really does is hide the problem and spit unburnt fuel out the pipes...
Any suggestions?
