2008 Yamaha V-Star Classic 1100 from United States of America

Summary:

Definitely not one of Yamaha's best

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

It has a drive shaft which is real whiney. The motor is really loud and noisy and doesn't have that much horsepower for its displacement. It really screams at you when you try to go fast. I wish it was four or five times faster than my 250 Yamaha Vtwin, but it's not even close.

Starting these things is a bit of an art and a science; there's a definite manufacturing flaw there.

If you're 5 foot 5, I'm sure the bike is comfortable, but if you're 6ft forget about it.

It's a bit trucky with the shaft; Hondas shafties are smooth as glass. Not one of Yamaha's best for sure.

2007 Yamaha V-Star Classic 1100 from United States of America

Summary:

Great bike for the motorcycle enthusiast

Faults:

I've owned the bike for 5 years. Never had a problem with the bike until September this year. One day it cranked, but didn't fire - wouldn't start. It ended up being the clutch starter kit. The kit cost over $500. I did an oil change as well. The bill came to over $1300. I think that's a little ridiculous. I was going to upgrade to a 1300cc, but now with the budget I'm on, I'm going to ride this as long as I can.
